Well, it’s been a long time since I last wrote on this blog! I began it with the intention of providing organizational tips and motivation, and started strong…but got distracted by a semester abroad, finishing up college, and moving back abroad. But here we are a few years later and I’m hopping back on the bandwagon. So, a few updates…
I’m now living in southern Spain and teaching English in my own small language school. That means that my organization now includes both my personal things as well as my lesson planning and small business management. Because there’s no one else working with me – it’s just me, 100 students, and the paperwork! – it makes for an occasional long day, but it’s generally a wonderful time.
I’m going to restart my blogging career by introducing you all to my current planner collection, which keeps me sane and prevents me (99% of the time) from missing anything too important. Stay tuned over the next few weeks for more specific posts describing my exact system in each planner.
First and foremost, my base: my Filofax Personal Malden.
I got my first Filofax when I was in 9th grade, and used it pretty dedicatedly throughout high school before becoming a Moleskine girl in college. I started using a Filofax again last February, and this Christmas decided to treat myself to the Malden. This is where my main calendars and scheduling go, all my to-do lists, and all my random notes. It goes with me *almost* everywhere…
…and when it’s not with me, my Pocket Filofax Identity (not pictured) is. This is my weekend wallet when I need to use a smaller bag and combine both wallet and planner. It’s a hand-me-down from my mom and was a bit of an experiment, but since I’m loving the system so much, it may be time for an upgrade soon. My birthday’s in May… 😉
Now onto the teaching materials:
This year, I’ve started using a Plum Paper Planner Large Teacher Planner, and I’m absolutely loving it. It’s enormous, but then it doesn’t ever really leave my desk except for the weekends when I’m working from home.
It’s accompanied by an A5 Filofax Original, which holds all my important documents for finances, notes about exam specifications, curriculum planning, etc. It rarely, if ever, leaves the school.
So that’s the family – the only one who’s been left out is my Personal Filofax Saffiano, last year’s binder and likely soon to be converted in my blog planner. I’ll be back soon with a detailed description (and more photos!) of all the above mentioned planners. Until next time,
Organizedly yours,
L.
